Day #96: Give a Letter to Your Sponsored Child

Day #96: Give a Letter to Your Sponsored Child 1

The past 5 years we have sponsored a boy named Gift from Zimbabwe through World Vision.

Day #96: Give a Letter to Your Sponsored Child 2

Without fail, we send $35/mth - it is automatically taken out of our account. But we haven't been very diligent about writing to him. As a family, we periodically pray for Gift and his community, but somehow we rarely get around to putting pen-to-paper.

This morning we wrote Gift a letter. It was simple. Our girls colored some pictures for him.

Do you sponsor a child? How often do you correspond with him/her?

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
