Do Small Things.

Do Small Things. 1

Sometimes a twinge of fear comes up out of nowhere. We'll wonder, "What do we REALLY have to give? Will we be able to do big things with two small children by our side?"

But then we are reminded...

We don't need to do BIG things. We need to "do small things with great love."

  1. Oh, thank you! This reminder, and beautiful quote, were exactly what I needed on this Friday morning as my mind looms over all of the things I have to do. I started to feel a little overwhelmed, but now? Thanks to your gentle reminder that I only need to do small things with great love, well I feel a little more confident about what lies before me.

I hope that you and your family do, too! We're praying for you and excited for you!

    Best wishes!

  2. Small things with great love... such a perfect thought to end the week with and a great reminder that it isn't all about us and what we do, it's about doing what needs to be done with love.

  3. What a great attitude you have! Oh, and I saw Tim's tweet about the king pin stabilizer. We didn't use one. It might have helped a bit, but we didn't find the movement bothersome, and the stabilizers we saw were expensive and cumbersome to set up and tear down. There's another system out there that attaches to your landing jacks and you can leave it permanently installed, which we looked into but found other things we preferred to spend money on instead like the tire pressure monitoring system. I think it was JT's strong arm stabilizing system we looked at.

  4. I just stumbled on your blog because I am interested in doing the VERY SAME THING with my family. I will be following along, you can bet. I also just started a charitable organization and am filing for non-profit status next week. Maybe can talk to you about your help. We are in Nashville. wow - really excited for you guys and what you are doing!

    1. How exciting! I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have as you make your decision.

Also - we'll likely be coming through Nashville this spring. Maybe we can meet up?

  5. Awesome quote! How cool this is that your family is embarking on this "Give Every Day" journey. I am excited to follow along. I'm always looking for ways that our little family of four can serve in our community. It really is so important to make helping others a part of our daily lives.

btw - I have a friend who is moving the Tucson area, and I just forwarded your listing to them. :)

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
