Day #44: Give to Make-A-Wish Foundation

Day #44: Give to Make-A-Wish Foundation 1

For the last few days, my family and I have been at Disney World for a conference. We are home this evening in our fifth wheel and it feels so nice.

One of the things that comes to mind when I think of Disney are Make-A-Wish kids. Make-A-Wish is an organization that strives to "grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy."

Going to a theme park is certainly not the only wish made by these kids, but if you pay attention in the parks you will likely notice a family or two wearing Make-A-Wish t-shirts.

The four of us rode a lot of rides this weekend and we had lots of fun together as a family. Since Disney is fresh on our minds, we made a donation to Make-A-Wish this evening.

Do you know any Make-A-Wish families?

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
