alternatively titled...Learn Every Day

Our goal when we are on-the-road in the coming year is to GIVE. As our pledge states, we want to use our strengths to "actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless." Our projects may take many different forms as we assist non-profits, churches, and schools across the USA. Through all of […]

Strengths & Skills (ours + yours)

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the phrase "give to others"? The most common response is to have an image of a soup kitchen come to mind...or perhaps the picture of a homeless man on the street corner, holding up a cardboard sign. While preparing soup, painting walls, and handing out […]

Choosing Our New "House"

Yesterday, we went and looked at RVs. We've also been googling and Craigslist-searching. We are thinking through sleeping arrangements, cooking, towing, storage, reliability, and more. Here are the three RV possibilities that are at the top of our list: Class C motorhome 30+ feet long. This option is leading in our minds right now, but […]

5 Reasons We Shouldn't Do This Give-Every-Day Thing!

Stephanie and I have put together a checklist of things we must do to prepare before we leave Arizona. The list is just short of a million (almost). It's a bit daunting, to say the least. As I look it over, fear creeps in. We have made a decision to rip our family out of our […]

How To Get a Passport

At first glance, getting a passport may seem a bit overwhelming. For starters, if you ask most anyone how to get a passport they will either tell you they don't know or that they got theirs years ago and don't remember exactly what you need to do - other than fill out an application. This past week, […]

3 Reasons We're NOT Starting A Non-Profit (or asking for your money)

The past few weeks have been a RUSH. We are scared out of our pants. We have waves of fear - and then joy - and then "We have way too much to do!" Overarching all of those feelings is overwhelming peace. Almost every day, Tim and I look at each other and say with […]

The Plan: Sell Everything. Live in an RV. Give Every Day.

Our 3-year-old was talking to one of her friends on the phone this week: "Our plan is to sell our house, live in an RV, and help lots of people and all of the kids who don't have food." She said it so confidently, so excitedly. She said it with sparkling eyes, with adventure in […]

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
