FAQ

Everything you want to know...but are too speechless to ask.

Q. Did you REALLY sell almost all of your belongings to travel around the country and GIVE to people?

A. Yes, we did. We sold our jeep, our cars, Tim's motorcycle, most of our furniture, books, toys, and electronics. After attempting to sell our house in the not-so-hot market, we currently have it available "for rent."

Q. Where does your family live?

A. In a 2001 Cameo by Carriage 5th wheel. It's a tiny space, but super cozy (and it takes us anywhere we want to go).

Q. What exactly will you be doing on the road?

A. We'll stop at cities across the U.S. - big and small - with the intent purpose of helping people and promoting good causes.

Q. What will a day in your life look like?

A. Each day will be a new adventure of giving. Some days, we will be helping individuals and families -fixing computers, painting houses, delivering meals, etc. Some days, we'll be serving at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, orphanages, nursing homes, and hospitals. Some days, we'll be hosting Twitter 101 and Social Media Workshops for non-profits, using our expertise to help good people communicate their messages to a broader audience. Some days, we'll rally people in select cities for volunteer events. Every day, we will wake up and pray and say, "How can we help people today?"

Q. How will you fund your trip?

A. We're both entrepreneurs and already have a small business in place. We are also accepting business sponsors and are more than happy to help you get your brand out in front of a large audience.

Q. How did you come to this decision?

A. Ideas have been whirling in our head for a few years now; sparks have been flying on neighborhood walks and late night talks. We wanted to give more, to live more. We wanted to do more than just say, "Things don't matter. People do." We wanted to show it - to ourselves, to others.

Q. What compels you to do this?

A. The hope that we have in Jesus.

Q. Isn't this whole thing kind of risky?

A. Yes. Very. We're scared out of our pants, but we're also convinced that most of the best things in our world are born out of risk and a willingness to leap out of the ordinary into the extraordinary.

That said, we do consider this to be an "intelligent risk." Certainly, there are fears and unknowns, but we will proceed carefully, prayerfully...with purpose and intentionality.

Q. Can I support you or donate to your cause?

A. The best way to support us is to follow our journey (pray for us; encourage us; give us feedback)...and to tell your friends about what we are doing. If you have a business, consider placing an ad on our website or on our RV. Contact us with your thoughts.

Q. How can I get involved in what you are doing?

A. Thanks for asking! We're so glad that you want to give to others too.

  • Start by following our journey on our blog and/or by following us on Twitter.
  • If you have a need, you can request that we come to your city.
  • If you have a business, we'd love it if you would sponsor our journey.
  • If you are a member of the press, cover our story so we can shine the spotlight on great people and good causes.
  • If you are an individual that is inspired by what we are doing, consider being apart of the FACES Project (more information coming soon...) and/or serve alongside us (find out if we're coming to a town near you).

We look forward to getting to know you!

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.
