Day #146: Give a Gift for a Newborn

Day #146: Give a Gift for a Newborn 1

Stephanie's brother and sister in-law just had their first baby. It's a boy! They live in Oregon so we are looking forward to meeting the little guy later this year.

To say "congratulations," we wrote them a letter and included a gift card.

We wish we were nearby and could bring them a few meals. That was the best thing anyone did for us right after each of our girls were born.

Congratulations, Josh and Kelley!

  1. Meals were my favorite just-home-from-having-a-baby gifts too!

Congrats on your new nephew - next to being a Mom, being an Auntie is the best!

  2. Congratulations!!!!! How exciting!
We'll be taking a meal to some friends who just had a baby. So awesome!!

  3. Congratulations to your sister!! And congratulations to you! A new little neph to love on! I love providing meals for new parents. In fact, one of my closest friends just had her baby boy last week. I use http://www.mealbaby.com to set up a meal calendar for them. It is an easy to use site that allows you to put info in and you can see what others may be bringing as well so they aren't overwhelmed with the same type of food every night!

Our family spent 2011 traveling the USA in an RV, striving to intentionally "give every day" for the glory of God. We interviewed CEOs of nonprofits and served alongside over 40 organizations and churches.

Our Pledge

We hereby pledge:

- To spend intimate, quantity time with our family.
- To actively help the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the helpless.
- To value, protect, and advocate for children.
- To de-emphasize the importance of “stuff” in our lives.
- To bring publicity to good causes and good people.
- To live with intentionality, as if this year was our very last.
- To observe the needs in our country/community – and then do something about them.
- To give – every day.
